    Announcements STAAR testing is complete! Spartan families, please begin returning all borrowed materials to the Western Hills campus. History:  Scholars will be studying the Black Plague and the Hundred Years War. Grammar/Writing:  Scholars will work on their creative writing short story assignment and will begin chapter 4 of grammar covering verbal participles. Mathematics:  Scholars will be taking their Final Math Test of the year next week on Wednesday. Questions will be from all lessons covered this year. Literature/Composition:   There will be practice STAAR tests during Lit/Comp on Tuesday and Wednesday. We will also continue to read and discuss  The Pearl. We will have a Grammar quiz over Ch. 2 on Thursday.

  Announcements   February 12th we will celebrate the virtue of friendship through Great Hearts Day! Students are welcome to bring in tokens of friendship to share with one another. Please no store-bought cards referencing Valentine’s Day or pop culture. Treats are optional but must be store-bought and individually wrapped.     What's Happening This Week?   History: Scholars will read about the life of Emperor Justinian, as well as study the rise and spread of Islam.    Literature/Composition: Scholars will read Act 1 scene 3 through Act 2 scene 4 of  Julius Caesar .   Grammar: Scholars will learn to about relative adjectival clauses. This will be the last chapter in workbook level 3a.   Mathematics: Scholars will start the unit on coordinate plane next week. We will start with a review on foundational concepts such as coordinates, axes and ordered pairs. Scholars will then take a short quiz on Wednesday (B&M) and Thursday (DL).
