What's Happening this week?

For 7A Literature and Composition this week, we will be reciting the poem 'Pied Beauty' as a class and writing an in class assessment on The Call of The Wild. For Distance learners, the zoom for Literature/composition will be held on Monday and Wednesday.

In History class, we will study how the Mexican government's actions in Texas caused discontent and unrest among Texas settlers from the United States.

For Mathematics, scholars will be reviewing questions from the quiz and previous chapters at the beginning of this week. Then, scholars will learn about Negative Numbers as exponents. After this chapter, we'll begin a brand new chapter on Rational Numbers.

This week in science scholars will learn and practice the scientific method. On Wednesday scholars will begin to look at the Kingdom Plantae! First, they will look at the common characteristics all plants share and then they will move on to look at the unique groups within this kingdom.

In 7B Literature this week scholars will give their first poetry recitation. After recitations, scholars will take their first look at our next poem, "If--" by Rudyard Kipling. Scholars will also complete an assessment on The Call of the Wild.

Math Open Hours

Dear scholars,

You will have Math Open Hours from 4PM to 5PM every day from Monday to Thursday. Please make use of this time to ask one-on-one question with your Math teacher. You can review any questions, concepts, lessons you have not understood in the past. You can also use this time to ask about the day's math assignment. You do not have to stay for the whole hour. Come with your question and leave when your query has been answered. For those, who struggle with Mathematics or have missed past lessons, the open hours are highly encouraged.
