7th (10/05 - 10/09)

Dear parents and families,

This is our second week of inviting some of the kids on campus. And we are thrilled to tell you how amazing this week has been! In midst of all uncertainties, we have been marching forward with the love for learning and cultivating virtues every day. We are deeply grateful and thankful to you for your trust and encouragement every week.

Announcements

No School Monday! Lit./comp. and Math zooms for distance learners will occur every school day next week except Friday.

Some Highlight of the Week

On Friday, the science class went outside in nature for a Nature Walk! Students made entries on their Nature Journal about the structures and types of leaves that they could observe. Students observed the blades, types of edges, patterns of vascular structures and learn to differentiate simple and compound leaves. Our distance-learners will be making similar observations on their own and entering them in the Nature Journal.

What's Happening Next Week?

In Literature, we will be reading and discussing two short stories by Edgar Allen Poe this week, The Cask of Amontillado and The Red Masque of Death.

The History class, we will have a quiz on the important characters we have read about in the Texas revolution, as well as study the Texan victory over Santa Anna at the Battle of San Jacinto.

In Mathematics, we will complete the Unit on Rational Numbers. We will review this unit on Wednesday. On Thursday, we will have a Math Quiz on the Unit. Our Friday, we will be beginning a new unit on Equations and Inequalities.

This week in science, scholars will continue to learn about the four groups of plants. Specifically, we will be focusing on gymnosperms and angiosperms. On Wednesday, we will be dissecting pinecones to better understand the life cycle of pine trees which are a member of the gymnosperm group.
