Announcements

Parent teacher conferences will be held on January 19th and 20th between 8:30 and 4:30. Each conference will be 15 minutes with all four 6th grade teachers. Please sign up below:

What's Happening this week?

In History, we'll be starting Medieval History! Students will study the fall of the Roman empire and the Germanic invasions.

Mathematics: Scholars will learn to calculate the increase and decrease of percentage using percentage formula and extend this knowledge to problems involving everyday life such  interests, royalties and commissions. 

Literature and composition class will be spending this week on reading and writing prep for the STAAR. 

Science- Friday after the independent study week, scholars will have a review game on all the material we have learned in science so far this year. Beginning Monday, the 25th, we will begin to look at phylum Arthropoda.

Lit/Comp- Friday the 22nd, scholars will read and discuss "A Sound of Thunder" by Ray Bradbury. Starting Monday, the 25th, we will look at Shakespearean sonnets.

Dear Parents and Families, Happy Friday! We hope that the weekend offer us all respite and reflection to come back fresh and ready to learn next week. We are thankful for all your support, encouragement and trust in us. We are all a team! Let us continue working together with one goal - to instill in our students the virtues of Truth, Goodness and Beauty.  What's Happening Next Week? This week in Science students will continue to expand their knowledge of cell organelles and their functions. Additionally, we will spend the week looking at our first biological kingdom, Kingdom Protista. Students will learn that while these organisms can be very small, they impact our lives every day. Mathematics class will enter a new chapter with Decimal system next week. Students will learn about exponents, squares and cubes.
