Dear Parents,
This is to make parents aware that scholars can receive a recess detentions as a consequence for continual actions that distract from the learning environment during school. This is an opportunity for scholars to spend time reflecting on how to make good choices that will help them be successful here at Great Hearts Parents will be notified before the detention is served.

 Do not forget to accept the invitation to join the new Google Class for Quarter 2!


What's Happening next week?

In Mathematics, students will learns to use transformation to solve equations. Students will be translating word problems into equations and vice versa. We'll continue learning and memorizing multiples, squares and cubes of numbers from 1 to 15!

For writing, students will compose a research paper on a natural biome using the skills they have learned for note-taking, writing citations, and creating outlines. And in Grammar class, students will learn how to analyze and diagram possessive pronouns and interrogative pronouns.

In the science class this week, we will finish our kingdom plante unit. Scholars will learn about seed dispersal and the role of fruit in plant reproduction. There will be a unit test on the plant groups on Friday. 

For literature, we will begin reading Fahrenheit 451 this week. We will also start researching and writing a paper for science. 

The History class next week will be studying Texas's annexation by the U.S. and the Mexican- American War.

Dear Parents and Families, Happy Friday! We hope that the weekend offer us all respite and reflection to come back fresh and ready to learn next week. We are thankful for all your support, encouragement and trust in us. We are all a team! This week in Science students will continue to expand their knowledge of cell organelles and their functions. Additionally, we will spend the week looking at our first biological kingdom, Kingdom Protista. Students will learn that while these organisms can be very small, they impact our lives every day. Mathematics class will enter a new chapter with Decimal system next week. Students will learn about exponents, squares and cubes.
